my anxiety experience during game

Entering the boxing arena requires mental toughness in addition to physical prowess. I anticipated the punches, the fatigue, and the difficulty of learning new tactics when I initially started boxing. The debilitating worry that preceded every conflict was something I didn't anticipate. The First Fight: Overwhelmed by Fear My first actual match is still fresh in my mind. My opponent appeared composed and focused as I stood in the ring, but my heart was hammering like a battle drum. My mouth was dry, my hands trembled, and my mind raced—What if I lose? What if I look foolish? What if I'm injured? The bell rung. I made an effort to concentrate, but my thoughts were buried in self-doubt rather than the battle. While my body was responding, my mind was elsewhere, consumed by fear. The round was done and I had hardly delivered any good punches when I finally jolted out of it. Understanding the Anxiety After that battle, I came to the realization that my worry was my greatest foe, n...

The passion for football

What Makes a football game Lethal? There are generally two factors that really determine the lethality of any street fighting technique and they are: Target that you select. Amount of force you deliver to that target. Yelling – Believe it or not but your voice is also a street fighting weapon. When used correctly, it can distract and shock your assailant causing him to temporarily freeze. For more information, read my book, When Seconds Count: Everyone’s Guide to Self Defense “Never use fancy or complex techniques when involved in a street fight. Such ornamental techniques are just too risky and impractical for street combat.” Punching – The fists are used for punching the assailant’s temple, nose, chin, throat, solar plexus, ribs and in some cases, the groin. Punching is an art form that requires considerable training and practice to master. Note: When landing your punch, remember to make contact with your center knuckle. For more information, see my book, 1001 Street Fighting Se...

How to Cope with Stress and Anxiety during the match

In the fast-paced world of today, anxiety and stress are common. Work-related stress, academic deadline pressure, money concerns, or personal difficulties can all feel too much to handle. Prolonged stress can have an adverse effect on our mental and physical well-being, even while worry is a normal reaction to challenging circumstances. I will discuss the origins of stress and anxiety, how they affect our health, and practical coping mechanisms to restore equilibrium and mental clarity in this blog. Understanding Stress and Anxiety What Is Stress? Stress is the body’s natural response to a challenging situation. It triggers the "fight or flight" response, releasing hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. While short-term stress can help in emergencies, chronic stress can be harmful. What Is Anxiety? Anxiety is a feeling of worry, fear, or unease. While occasional anxiety is normal, excessive worry about everyday situations can indicate an anxiety disorder. Common Causes of St...

An overdue match

Old Fire Reignited Following up on my previous post, life after leaving Kung Fu training gradually became monotonous. I slipped back into my usual routine, and the excitement of learning something new faded into the background. However, when I reached the 10th standard, my school announced a sports training camp for Kung Fu and martial arts. The moment I heard about it, a deep longing resurfaced. I wanted keenly to join, but my past experiences made me hesitant. At that time, I had three close friends, and lacking confidence, I asked them to join me. I thought that if we all went together, it would be easier for me to take the leap. They somewhat agreed but never made the effort to register for the training with me. This hesitation kept bugging me, and though I wanted to join, I let my fear of going alone hold me back. That turned out to be my second big mistake. For the next two years in that school, I watched other students being awarded for their achievements in tournaments, knowing...

My Life after football

Image
My life's journey has been a continuous process of growth, overcoming challenges, and seeking purpose.  Reflection reveals significant progress while highlighting the vastness of my aspirations.  My life has consistently integrated professional obligations, personal ambitions, and a commitment to serving others.  My pursuit of a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, while arduous and complex, has been instrumental in shaping my identity through a series of formative experiences. My Professional Aspiration My career goal is to become a psychologist who deeply engages with clients' narratives and empowers them to discover their life's purpose, exceeding the scope of a purely diagnostic and treatment-oriented medical practitioner. This aspiration is deeply personal and transcends academic pursuits.  All my endeavors—projects, coursework, and initiatives—contribute to my overarching objective of understanding and supporting individuals. Future Endeavors I recogni...

A defeated match : building resilience.

Even amidst life's complexities, individuals possess greater resilience than they often recognize. Everyone encounters challenging periods, which may include the accumulation of daily responsibilities, bereavement, financial hardship, or job insecurity. Feeling overwhelmed when faced with obstacles is a common experience. However, resilience is not about evasion but about directly confronting challenges and emerging stronger. Resilience is a cultivated attribute, not an inherent trait. The encouraging aspect is that its development can commence immediately. What precisely constitutes resilience?  Resilience can be likened to a muscle; overcoming obstacles strengthens the mind, much as exercise strengthens the body.  It is not about suppressing emotions or exhibiting unwavering toughness, but rather about adapting, maintaining optimism, and persevering despite adversity.  Resilient individuals experience stress, anxiety, and pain, but they do not allow these emotions to de...
